Ways to Improve Your Golf Swing
Golf is great pastime activity. Golf is enjoyed by people of all age ranges. Some families even outfit their children with child size clubs and think of the game as a great family outing. If you think this game is boring, give it a chance and you may grow to love it.
Of course, it can take a while to get good at golf. One of the biggest factors to getting better at golf is to work on your golf swing. The more you work at this skill, the better at the game you will get. Here are some tips to help you improve your swing.
Never allow yourself to swing any club very quickly. Too fast of a swing tends to be more of newbie golfer mistake, though. Do this – pause, just a little, at the the very top of your swing; and that’s according to the golfing experts. That pause is not supposed to be of a long duration, though. Don’t destroy the feel and rhythm of your swing with your pause – just ever so quick for the pause. If you swing without the pause, then you will ultimately lose control of your body and the swing during the switch from back to forward swing. The best approach to hitting the ball is called ‘down and through.’ You’ll have to follow through to get the club to lift, and that will make the ball lift. The ball will not rise because you somehow tried to do an upswing motion on the club. That is a mistaken approach to hitting and always avoid doing it. If you insist on hitting it the wrong way you may send it aloft – but very far away – embarrassing. You’re more likely to send the ball straight up and then straight back down again!
Back to windy conditions – remember to lighten up a little on the swing; and then swing easier. If you don’t do that, then you will lose trajectory plus accuracy… plus control, etc. Remember what Greg Norman said, “swing easy into the breezy.” We do understand that it can be intuitive to think you need more power when hitting into the breezy. Remember, there’s all kinds of forces and aerodynamic principles at play – swing easy, golfer… trust us. The easier your swing, the better able you will be to control it and your ball. Wind can feel good, sure, but don’t let it take you down the wrong path. There are so many different strategies with golf. No matter what, keep playing and always please do have fun with it and your golfing buddies. It is possible to have a blast while you’re doing your best to improve and execute what you know you need to do. Working on your swing is something that every golfer should do. Keep picking up as many tips as possible and keep swinging on the course. Not only are these tips great for you, but you can help your buddies out, too – maybe.
